The Santa Ana Mountains have some of Orange County's best singletrack, much of it reached from Highway 74.

Where to ride

San Juan Trail: a classic, technical Cleveland National Forest descent that ends near Ortega Highway. Forest Service trail page.
Main Divide roads: dirt forest roads along the crest of the Santa Ana Mountains, reached from the highway near El Cariso.
Caspers Wilderness Park: rolling trails at the west end of the highway. OC Parks.

Several Trabuco Ranger District trails have been closed after the Airport Fire. Check Cleveland National Forest alerts before you ride.
